A favourite old neighbourhood in Vancouver has recently seen a boost of new neighbours moving in, bringing a smorgasbord of fresh places for local residents and visitors to drink and dine. Papi's Seafood and Oyster Bar

Beach Bay Café’s new addition to the team Chef Felix Zhou brings a fresh take on beach cuisine in a warm and welcoming space that boasts hard-to-beat beach views in English Bay’s most enviable sunset spot. Go for beautiful fish dishes, bottomless mimosas at Sunday brunch and inventive cocktails from Adrian Linder behind the bar.

The team behind the popular meat-centric Buckstop on Denman recently opened this underground Italian joint hidden down some steps off Davie. Head here for late-night gnocchi or cool down with a sorbet martini cocktail at the bijou bar. Take out meals are also an option if you want to enjoy dinner on the beach in English Bay.

The Blind Sparrow

The Blind Sparrow gastrotavern recently took over the old LeftBank space and has quickly become a popular place to hang out on Denman. Live music, a wide range of craft beers and B.C. wines, plus plenty of share plates like boar ribs and spicy prawn tacos, make it a sociable spot to meet up with friends.

Relish Gourmet Burgers

Canadian gourmet burger chain reLISH is long established, but is a new addition to Davie Street. Burger fans can chow down on Angus-certified beef patties dressed with some seriously inventive toppings. Customize your own meal or choose from a selection of signature burgers: LA is my Lady features avocado, pepper, basil pesto and goat cheese while the whopping Big Texas comes topped with smoky BBQ sauce, crispy onion frites, pepperjack cheese and crispy bacon.

Hapa Ramen

Converting a third of the original Hapa Izakaya into a ramen bar has given Robson another Japanese noodle option, and this one offers chicken-based broth with added authentic extras such as maa-yu, black-charred onion oil.
